Emma emailed me a while ago to schedule a couple’s shoot for her and Jonathan. I had done Emma’s senior pictures and adored her so I was thrilled to see her again. About a week later, I got an email from Jonathan telling me that he wanted to propose during the photo shoot. Of course, I got all the goosebumps and was beyond excited! We made a plan. I would pretend that I couldn’t remember his name at the beginning of the shoot. Then after shooting for about 10 minutes, I would change to my really big lens. I would tell Emma to stand and look at me. That Jonathan would stand behind her and that he would come up from behind her and hug/tickle her to get her to laugh. That would be the cue for Jonathan to do his thing! She stood there looking a little confused. Just before Jonathan got on one knee, I said “brace yourself”. Then I just snapped away thankful to be present for one of the most special moments of a couple’s lives!!! It was so fun and beautiful! Soon after, their family and pup came to join in the celebration. Of course, I had to get in a few more portraits and even take that gorgeous ring off of her finger for some pictures! These two have been together since Emma was 14!!! They are precious together. What an amazing day! A dear friend said to me “you have a rewarding job”. Yes, I really do!!!
