Hey friends! Welcome to my website! I’m a natural light photographer
based in Rocky Mount NC. I enjoy taking relaxed pictures that capture
the true personality of my subjects. As someone who knows how
intimidating it can be in front of the camera, I try my best to make
everyone feel comfortable from behind the camera. I use light-hearted
and creative techniques to help you get comfortable and have some fun.
This lets me capture you in happy and authentic moments, allowing your
natural joy to shine in your photos!
I love to become quick friends with my subjects and consider our
sessions together a chance to get to know one another and have a good
time. My style as a photographer is very organic and I like to
prioritize laughter and quality photos in my sessions! With me, you
can let down your guard and just have fun, because I will be doing the
same with you!
Saturday’s wedding was all about chemistry. Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with the properties, composition, and structure of elements and compounds, how they can change, and the energy that is released or absorbed when they change. There is nothing easy to understand about this definition. When it comes to matters of the heart, chemistry is very simple. You either have it or you don’t. Matthew & Lindsay definitely have it! The sparks fly when these two are in each other’s presence.
Matthew & Lindsay met on a prospective student weekend at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign. We hear that Lindsay immediately caught Matthew’s eye. He fell pretty quickly for her and said “I love you” a little too early in the relationship. Lindsay replied, “thank you”. That would be a sad story if we didn’t know the ultimate outcome! Now they are like protons and electrons!! That’s right, isn’t it? I’m not a science girl! Anyway, they have much in common as fellow PhD candidates and seem to be the perfect fit for each other.
Fran & I were delighted to be able to capture their wedding day. We were able to get the beautiful bride and groom portraits outside before the wedding. The weather was beautiful. As they were saying their vows, I saw very dark clouds moving in so I swept them away for a few minutes as soon as they walked down the aisle for a few outside portraits. I’m so glad I did because a windy storm immediately came through. We still captured beautiful portraits of them in the Power House. The Power House is an amazing venue for weddings. Matthew & Lindsay thought of every single detail for this reception. The florals, cocktail hour seating, tablescapes & cake were perfect! As everyone was enjoying their dinner, we noticed a gorgeous rainbow outside. I immediately felt pulled to go tell Kevin, Matthew’s father. As soon as I told him, he said “of course there is!”. I was unaware, but Kevin’s mother has passed not too long ago and they had been feeling her presence all day. The beautiful rainbow appeared to be her last little wink and nod to her grandson’s big day. Moments like this give me all the goosebumps and are priceless.
Matthew & Lindsay finished off the evening with the best music and nonstop dancing. A sparkler exit was the perfect send-off for these two chemists! Congratulations you two! Fran & I wish you nothing but the best life has to offer! We were honored to be a part of your big day!
